    MailwareScript.exe

Is there any documentation for MailwareScript.exe. What is the command syntax to execute a .mws file?

    Hi Tom,

There is not any documentation currently available, but the script tool is very simple. Any file with an extension of .mws will automatically run in the script editor if you double click it. Make sure the .mws file is in your data directory.

You can also create a shortcut to a .mws file and place it in the Tools folder under your data directory (right click and drag the .mws file to your Tools folder. When you release the mouse button choose Create Shortcut Here from the menu). This will add the script to the Tools menu in Mailware.

You can edit or create a script using the Script Editor. Both it and the Mwscript.ext (the program that simply runs the scripts) are located in the C:\Program Files\Mailware\XXXX\Scripts folder (where XXXX is the version #).

    MailwareScript.exe

    I tried to run the following .bat file;

    r:
    cd\mwserver1
    mailwarescript r:\mis\sbuyinvt.mws
    echo done

but get an "access violation error in mailwarescript.exe"

the only two files in the scripts directory are mailwarescript.exe and mailwarescripteditor.exe

    Hi Tom,

Your association of .mws files with MWScript.exe is broken. You should receive the same error message if you double click a .mws file too. If so, try associating again. If that does not work please let us know. You may need to edit the registry to fix the association.

What kind of registry patching do I have to do. Using the windows assignment didn't work.

    Hi Tom,

Search for mwscript in the registry. You should find a reference to a previous association under an earlier version (e.g., 2009). You can change the path to your current version (e.g., C:\Program Files\Mailware\2010\Scripts).

Those seem to be pointing correctly. Any other ideas?

If you are using XP try associating .mws files with MWScript.exe using the Explorer interface (Tools>Folder Options>File Types). Click the Change button and associate the extension, even if it is already correct. Then click the Restore button on the lower right portion of the dialog. This last step has worked for several installations we have tried.
