Instructions
You can permanently delete a customer account if you have not
assigned any orders to it.
Note: You may wish to simply mark the account
inactive instead of deleting it. You can also select other flags
(e.g., Don't Send Email). See the Add
a Customer topic for details.
If you are not already viewing the account you
wish to delete you can search for it by clicking the Find Customer button
on the toolbar. Or,
click here to open the Search screen.
Enter as many fields as you need to locate the customer then click the
button or press Enter.
Matches will appear in the lower half of
the screen. Highlight the record you wish to open and either double
click it, press Enter or click the OK button.
When the customer's account is on the screen you can see
the number of orders and contacts associated with the customer above the
tabs.
If a customer has orders on record you
cannot delete the customer account. This prevents orphaned orders.
You should mark the account as "Inactive" (See the Add
a Customer topic for details.), and cancel the order (See Cancel
an Order) if appropriate.
If the customer has contacts on record you
can delete the customer account after deleting the individual
contacts. To do so click the Contacts tab.
Select contacts one at a time by clicking on them
in the grid.
Then click the
button at the bottom of the screen to permanently remove the
contact.
After all contacts are deleted you can delete the
entire customer account. To do so click the
on the toolbar at the top of the screen.
