Follow the instructions below to create Installment Payment
Plans.
|
Instructions
You can create an unlimited number of installment payment plans
that can be selected during order entry. This allows you to accept
partial payments for orders to be collected over time while allowing
the order to ship immediately.
Set Up Installment Payment Plans
- Open the Order screen to any existing order.
Click
here to open the Order screen.
- Click the
button and select Installment Payments... from the list.
The following dialog will appear.
- Click
the Add button on the dialog to enter a new plan, or
simply type into a blank line.
- Enter the following fields:
- Plan Name - Type a name for the plan you are creating
(e.g., 4 Monthly Payments). Be as descriptive as possible, but
keep the name short.
- Payments - Enter the total number of payments for
this plan.
- Interval - Select an interval from the pulldown.
Payments will be due during these intervals (e.g., Monthly
payments will be due on the same date each month).
- Grace Days - Enter the number of days before the
first payment is due, or 0 (zero) if due immediately. This
number will be added to the date the payment was created
(e.g., if today is the 15th and you enter 5 the first payment
will be due on the 20th. If you chose a monthly interval
payments will be due on the 20th of each subsequent month).
- Tax In First Payment - Double click this box to check
it if you wish to collect all sales tax with the first
payment. Payments will be divided by the number of payments
first, then sales tax will be added to the first payment
(e.g., a sale of $100 plus $5 tax with a monthly interval of 4
payments will be calculated as: 1st payment of $30, subsequent
payments of $25).
- Shipping In First Payment - Double click this box to
check it if you wish to collect all shipping with the first
payment. Payments will be divided by the number of payments
first, then shipping will be added to the first payment (e.g.,
a sale of $100 plus $5 shipping with a monthly interval of 4
payments will be calculated as: 1st payment of $30, subsequent
payments of $25).
Note: Tax and Shipping may both be added by checking
both boxes. The first payment will include the total sales tax
and shipping due.
- Click the
button to save and close the
dialog.
- You may select
the Install payment option during order entry to apply a plan to
any order. At that time you can choose to approve the first
payment or not.
