Follow the instructions below to create a recurring order.

Instructions
The Recurring Order query duplicates a customer's last order on
the day interval you select. It is useful for subscription orders,
gift clubs etc.
- Take an order for a customer as
usual. See the Orders
Help Topic for details. We like to search for the customer by using the Find Customer button
then click the New Order button on the Customer screen. Click
here to open the Customer Search screen.
- Edit the customer's account. You can do this by clicking the
button while on the order screen, or you can search for the customer's account.
Click here to open the Customer Search screen.
- Click the
button to add a Contact Log entry. The following dialog will appear.

- Date - Enter the stop date for the recurring orders. No
orders will be created on or after the date you enter.
- Action - In the Action field select Recurring Orders from the
pulldown.
- Tickle Dt - Enter a starting date in the Tickle Dt field. This is typically the date of the first order, but it can be any date in the future.
- Days - Enter the number of days between orders.
- Operator
- Select your Operator ID from the pulldown if it is not entered
for you automatically.
- Click the
button to save and close the log.
- At the beginning of each day run the Recurring Orders query. To do so, click Tools on the text menu, then select Recurring Orders from the list.
run the Recurring Orders query.
The query will create new orders for any entries that have reached their Days interval (e.g., if you enter a Tickle Date of 4/5/03 and Days of 20, an order will be created on 4/25/03 when you run the
query. The Tickle Date will be updated to Today's date and
another order will be created in 20 days when you run the query
again). Each subsequent order is based on the last one so you
can make changes to an order manually and they will be
duplicated on the next. You should run the query each day. You
can also run it multiple times during a day if needed. It will
only create one order per period.
Note: If you do not have the Create Recurring Orders
option in your Tools menu you can download the Mailware Query
tool and install it. Go
online to download the Query Tool.
- You can fill
the orders created by the query by running the Process Orders action
to print invoices, charge credit cards and ship the new orders.
Click
here to run the Process Orders action.
