The sample database uses a fictional company called Lord's Flower and Garden. Several customers and orders have been entered with a wide variety of scenarios (gift orders, COD payments, different ship methods etc.). You can explore this data, run most reports on it (all reports have samples you can see in their help too) and make changes.
 

In the dialog that opens select Sample Database

then click the button.
